In this introduction to musical theatre, students will learn all the music, words, and a choreographed dance to a number(s) from a huge Broadway show or musical movie. Students will learn how to develop characters and act in short scenes. Costumes and sets are part of a small performance for family and friends on the last day of classes.

NEW to The Orchards - Beginner Volley! Volleyball Alberta's GO Sport Atomic programs follow the curriculum set out in Volleyball Canada’s Atomic Volleyball Program. Atomic Volleyball is an 7-week program with adapted rules for youth ages 9-12 years. Each session is 1.5 hours with every session being a combination of skills/technique practice and modified games play. Atomic Volleyball is part of the Long-Term Athlete Development Model Stage 2 “Learning to Train” that stresses FUN, FAIRPLAY, and PARTICIPATION by increasing the number of ball contacts. The program will take place outdoors on a grass court. Mondays | May 5 - June 23 *Omit May 19 (Victoria Day) (7 weeks) 5:00 - 6:30 PM Ages 9 - 12 Resident rate: $145* Non-residents: $155* *Note: your enrollment fees include a membership with Volleyball Alberta which boasts multiple benefits including athlete and leadership development. Students in this class will learn the beginner fundamentals of two martial arts:
- Olympic Tae kwon do - the art of kicking
- Brazilian Jiu Jitsu - ground self-defence and grappling
Our programs have been specifically designed by a professional youth specialist with 20 years of youth work experience to meet kids at their developmental stage. Family Spirit Martial Arts classes promote GREATER SELF-ESTEEM by teaching your children HOW to feel about life challenges and HOW to overcome them.
Students in this class will learn the curriculum of both martial arts, with the opportunity to test when ready, giving them the criteria to advance to higher belt levels and learn the next-level curriculum prerequisites.
Standard testing fees range from $50 - $85.00. Testing fees for tae kwon do and Brazillian jiu-jitsu is offered for students of The Orchards at a reduced rate of only $35.00.
Students MUST be approved for testing by the lead instructor, Master Taylor, and will be invited to do so directly. Testing will happen during regular class time while other non-testing students participate in regular training. Testing will take place on the last day of class.
Students are asked to come wearing loose-fitting comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle.
Uniforms and gloves may be purchased through Family Spirit Martial Arts if desired. Please allow up to two weeks for order delivery. If interested in purchasing a uniform, please email familyspiritmartialarts@gmail.com directly to coordinate.

We introduce the simple rules of fair play and the ethics of sport so that kids can have fun and feel safe while they learn to play soccer.

Our certified Training and Behavioural Specialist Riza teaches new dog owners how to enjoy meaningful relationships with their dogs. As a member of the International Association of Canine Professionals Riza is committed to helping dog owners and families succeed in their training and leadership goals. Socializing your puppy at a young age is very important for their development and helps set the stage for future interactions. This class is designed for puppies to enjoy supervised, off-leash socialization and exposure to various sights, sounds, and textures in a playful environment. Riza will be at the Puppy Social Hours to offer guidance and support with puppy interactions. A maxmimum of two handlers (owners) per dog are permitted to attend class alongside your puppy. Our classes are intentionally small with a maximum of 6 puppies and are held in our fully fenced outdoor rink for a safe and controlled space. Class requirements: - Puppies must be between 8 weeks and 4 months at the start of class - Age appropriate vaccines are required to attend. This includes core vaccines, rabies, and bordetella. Talk to your veterinarian or breeder for more information. You will be asked to provide a copy of vaccination records prior to the start of class. *Note: larger breed puppies are recommended to attend the class for puppies ages 4-6 months
